A piñata that bursts with three taps, a treasure map that unfolds and marks the party with an X, a unicorn floating between pastel clouds: this is the catalog of kids' birthday invitations, ready for you to personalize yourself from $15. If the birthday is for an adult, a surprise party, or has a very specific theme, we'll design the digital birthday invitation from scratch in the PRO version.
Four kids' birthday themes are ready to go in the editor — Piñata!, Treasure Map, Pastel Unicorn and Jungle Safari — each with its own personality: the piñata bursts open with three taps and confetti rains down, the pirate map unfolds and marks an X where the party is, the unicorn arrives through pastel clouds and rainbows, and the safari brings watercolor animals along for the ride. For a 40th, a 50th, or that surprise party you've been planning for weeks, we design it by hand instead.

Inviting people to a seven-year-old's party isn't the same as inviting them to your dad's surprise fiftieth. The tone, the details, even when you send it, all shift depending on who's celebrating — and picking the right birthday invitation starts there, not with your favorite color.
For a kids' party, the theme leads the way: if the birthday kid is obsessed with animals, a pirate treasure map won't land the same way a jungle safari would. Our kids' digital birthday invitations are already built around that logic — each design comes with its own animation and sound on open, so from the very first tap, the child (or the parents reading the link) knows exactly what kind of party it is.
Adult birthdays play a different game. No piñata, no treasure map: a more understated digital birthday invitation takes over instead, with photos spanning the years — from the black-and-white baby picture to today — a song that defined an era, and a tone that can be serious or playful, depending on the person. Since this falls outside our ready-made catalog, we always build it in the PRO version.
If the party is a secret, the invitation needs to say so in big letters right at the top — "it's a surprise, don't mention it" — and RSVPs need to go to the host's WhatsApp, never the birthday person's. That's the key detail. It also means the birthday person can't accidentally receive the link: double-check who you're sending it to, and if there's a family group chat that includes the guest of honor, message the right people separately.
Birthday person's name, the age they're turning, date, time and venue with a map button — almost nobody misses those. What does get forgotten: the dress code if there is one ("swimsuit" for a pool party, "costume" for a Halloween-themed one), whether there's parking or guests need to park on the street, and whether a gift is optional or everyone already knows "just bring yourself." For kids' parties, add whether siblings are welcome or the invite is just for the one child. If you're also handing out a printed birthday invitation card, the digital one's QR code ties both versions together without duplicating work.
To RSVP, guests tap "RSVP" and the answer lands directly in your WhatsApp; with the guest list, each family confirms its seats from its own link. For kids' parties, the RSVP also asks how many children and how many adults are attending, so you know how much cake to order and how many favors to prepare without guessing. More about that guest list on the page for online invitations with RSVP.
On timing: two to three weeks ahead works for almost any birthday, unless it's a big event with a rented venue, in which case a month ahead is better. And if the date shifts — it happens more than you'd expect, especially with sick kids or venues that cancel — you fix it in the invitation and the same link already out there updates instantly, nothing to resend.
Turning 18, 21, 30 or 50? Each milestone has its own page, starting with 21st birthday invitations and 30th birthday invitations. And if half the guests live in another state or country, the page about virtual invitations explains how one link reaches everyone.
If it's a child's birthday but parents are invited too, say so in the invitation: "a party for the whole family" keeps anyone from showing up thinking it's kids-only.
Double-check the list before forwarding anything. A link that lands in the wrong chat — where the birthday person also happens to be — can undo months of planning in a second.
Especially for kids' parties: knowing whether 2 or 5 people are coming per family changes how much cake, how many chairs and how many favors you need. With the guest list, each family gets its own link with its seats, and your dashboard shows how many are coming.
If the party calls for a costume, swimsuit or a specific color, put it in the invitation in large text. A voice note gets lost among a hundred messages; a line in the invitation stays there to check the day before.
Pick a design in the editor and activate it for $15, or message us on WhatsApp if the birthday is for an adult or it's a surprise party.
